It is a really amazing week in Valencia. Fallas takes the attention of the whole city. Everyone knows Spain as a land of parties and attractive celebrations and one of the most famous events is the Fallas of Valencia. Visitors are coming from different parts of the entire world to see this traditional show. The “Valencianos” celebrate it with an evident passion and happiness. The Erasmus Students are not strangers to this spirit. Every day they breathe the magic of this festive atmosphere. The costumes, music, dance, food and “petardos” make this event so special. As a matter of fact Fallas have been declared as an International Tourist Festival.

But who can talk about the experiences better than the students themselves? That’s why they will tell us their impressions regarding the party of fire.

Gloria & Wendy from France:

Hello! Doing our internship during the Fallas is so funny. It is an enjoyable experience. You can learn a lot about the story and origins of the Fallas. We saw different kinds of beautiful Ninots. We absolutely recommend you to visit in Fallas”

D&SStefano from Italy:

I like this cultural celebration because it is very interesting. You can see sculptures created by Spanish artists exhibited in different parts of the city. Besides I was surprised of the peoples vision, how they love Fallas and how they burst firecrackers all day. The history of Fallas is so intriguing. I would like to be there where the queen of the party, La “Fallera”, will give the permission to the master of fireworks begin to the fire. Today is the night of the fire and I don’t want to lose any detail.”

Dominique from Holland:

The firework show “Mascletà” is great! Especially in the last week. Also the parades with traditional clothing and music, are amazing to see. If you visit the Fallas you also must go to the two light shows, on the central square and in Russafa. Bands are playing in the whole city and there are so many food corners where you can taste the best paella in town. Everyone is in a party mood. The “Mascletà” on Friday is one of the biggest firework shows in Europe. It is an event I will remember for the rest of my life”.

So, there is a lot to do in Valencia during Fallas and the rest of the year. We are waiting for you. Come and live the opportunity to be part of this Spanish cultural celebration. ErasmuSpain is on Fallas!
